Noel Butcher Photography is based in Melbourne, Australia, and caters mainly to the editorial and commercial markets within Australia. I shoot digital exclusively, simply because I think it is better for the client, for me, and particularly, the environment. Looking through my images you may notice there are many pictures of construction projects. This is an endeavour I particularly enjoy.

For twenty years, I was with the Melbourne Herald, one of the world's last great broadsheet afternoon newspapers before choosing to freelance. Working for a publication such as The Herald, instilled a talent for working quickly and efficiently within tight deadlines which is a trait that I endeavour to carry over into my freelance work.

The pictures on this site are a mix from assignments for clients and personal work.

I am an inaugural member of the MAP Group (a non-profit asociation of around fifty photographers who share a passion and commitment to high-quality, independent documentary image making) and a member of the National Association of Photoshop Professionals. I hold a current Victorian ‘Working with Children Check’ card for those situations where necessary.
